This morning I awake to the thought of the song Let Me tell you about MY Jesus. I am putting the emphasis on the words me and my for it is our job, my job, your job to tell them of My Jesus, Your Jesus.

Personal evangelism, we think of it as a deep theological conversation, as a somber look, a deep whispery voice “If you die tonight are you certain you will go to Heaven”.  It is that question but not necessarily that tone.

What is my job here? To tell you about my Jesus. My Savior. The One that died for you and me, the One that brings peace, The One that makes life worth living, the One that Rose again. The One who made it possible for me to have life eternal and not hellfire and damnation.

We are going into the Christmas season, and you will see the baby Jesus everywhere you look (or at least I hope you will), and that baby while oh so important, is not the Jesus they need. The Jesus they need, I need, You need, that Jesus hung as a common criminal on wood beams for all the world to see.

He hung naked, beaten, bloodied and bruised on a cross displayed in front of all Jerusalem, the man some were calling a king just a few days before is now being openly mocked.

Yet that Jesus as important as He is, is not who I want you to see. No, I want you to fast forward to The Sunday morning after the Cross, to an empty grave. That empty grave, the Jesus that met Mary at the Tomb, The Apostles in the upper room, the disciples on the road to Emmaus that Jesus is who we need to tell them of.

For the Birth and death would have meant absolutely nothing if that grave was not/is not empty.

Jesus, that name above all names, Jesus the sweetest name I know, the One who gave His life for us, who breathed His last breath on that old rugged cross, He defeated death and Hell, He defeated sin and the grave and He did it for us. He didn’t need it, we did.

That Jesus. The One Who now sits at the right hand of the Father.

That’s my Jesus.

He died for me, He died for you, even when we didn’t know Him, even when we didn’t want to know Him, He still loved us. When we scorned Him, mocked Him, ignored Him, He loved us.

He died that we might live. He rose again that we might KNOW that He is God, and He is able to keep all the Word, all the Promises He made.

That Jesus. The One who says come unto me I WILL give you rest. That Jesus.

The Jesus that says come take my yoke upon you and then what does He do? He takes the other half, the bigger half of that yoke, and walks with you.

That Jesus. The Jesus that loved me, died for me. The Jesus that calls all unto Him.

He says come to me, Please. He doesn’t command, He doesn’t turn you away, no He begs and pleads, He sends you messengers, He knocks on your heart’s door and says I am here.

He gives you a choice, and He did not have to!

He gives you love when all else turn on you. He gives you life when all else seek your destruction.

He doesn’t say change, He doesn’t make demands or requirements. No, He says come to me and I will teach you.

That Jesus. That’s the One I want you to see. That’s the One I want you to meet.

In these United States we have a population of 334 million people living in it's borders. Of that 334 million people we have 161 million registered voters of that 161 million, 150 million voted in the last election that just happened. Of that 150 million there was a 5 million vote difference, meaning these United States are not that United. 1.5% difference. Again I am using estimates not specific to the very number figures.

There was an Election, it just happened, Among those that supported the winner I am seeing a lot of “yes! answered prayers” “God heard and is healing our land”.

Among the losers I am hearing doom and gloom.

Now if you pay attention to the numbers what do we see? The nation is divided in half. Half want one vision, the other half want the other, yet they are not voting for the candidate are they? No they are voting for the vision they want. Some vote solely on the party, some vote on policy, and some vote against the candidate, and some do not vote at all "what’s the point?".

What I find most strange is that there are people praying on both sides asking God to move and help their agenda succeed, their person to win. Nobody is praying for “whatever happens Thy will be done”, no we are asking God for what we think is best, what we think is right. We are either happy we won or super demoralized we lost.

I wrote about this in 2017 which was the last time we had these same events going on, when people were praying and begging God to heal our land and save His people.

So many thinking this is the 2nd chance from God, (again.)

What I want to know, and this is where we are going to land and stay for the duration, have you prayed for this? Did you think this was an answer from God?

If so, WHY?

I said not too long ago if you were praying to God to put your person into the office, then you are praying wrong. If you think one man or woman in an office can effect the change that only God Himself, through the prayers and efforts of His people, can bring then you need to rediscover Him.

I have seen 2 Chronicles 7:14 and people saying we prayed and He is healing our land, Is He though?

Do you really think an election is going to turn this thing around? Are you really placing your faith in the secular government to fix what they broke?

Now that we are past the election, now that we are ready to turn the page, what are you going to do about it? Are you going to forget the prayer, the worry, the angst? Are you going to rise to the challenge, keep the fire going and ensure we do not get back to where we were?

At the Bema seat we will be asked about us, not the election, or the President, Senate or House. Just us. Me, Myself and I.

Have we witnessed?

Have we prayed?

Have we set a Godly example for the lost to see?

Have we kept our eyes on Him?

Have we served?

Does the election matter as much as the Things of God we need to turn us around?

It does not, yet where are our eyes looking to for our help?

God said to Abraham Go, Abraham went. God rewarded his faithfulness with the Abrahamic Covenant.

God said to Noah Build and ark, Noah did God rewarded his faithfulness with the Noahic Covenant.

God said to Moses go to Pharaoh get my people and go to the promised Land. Moses did. Moses was rewarded with the Mosaic Covenant.

David on the other hand,

2Sa 7:1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

2Sa 7:2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

2Sa 7:3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.

David said God, you deserve better, let me do for you.

Absolutely fascinating and this is why David is the man after God's own heart.

He was living in a cedar house, God was dwelling in a tent.

David wanted more for his God, without being asked.

David cared for God's standing and reputation.
