Though these three men Daniel Noah and Job were there
Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would only deliver their own souls with their righteousness.
God says even 3 of the holiest saints could not affect change in this day and for that God will destroy Jerusalem. No son nor daughter would be delivered, just these 3 men.
God is terribly grieved over the sin of Jerusalem and Israel and Judah.
Eze 14:12 The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,
Eze 14:13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:
Eze 14:14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.
This phrasing is used at least 2 times in this chapter of Ezekiel. The sin of Jerusalem? Idolatry and who led the charge into Idolatry?
The Elders.
Eze 14:1 Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.
Eze 14:2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Eze 14:3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?
Certain of the Elders, and these were not old men as we understand these were elders, leaders in Jerusalem Israel and Judah.
They have put idols in their hearts, they have become stumbling blocks to the people.
This is the state of God’s people, deep in idolatry led there by those trusted to lead.
The question?
Can you affect those around you in this day?
Will you?
We have no one coming to our rescue, are we going to stand and deliver? Are we going to be the Men of God needed to turn it around?
